Walt The disney produtcions Animation have produce lots of antique collectible films, and there latest releasing, Big Hero 6, has just flushed Beauty and the Beast to become the second highest-grossing Disney Animation release.
Full-size Hero 6, which is loosely-based around a Marvel Comics property, reached a very milestone at the North American box clinic this weekend. The film has already grossed $219. 3M at the national box office, which pushed that it past Beauty and the Beast. In which puts the film in 4th place among Disney animated motion pictures, behind The Lion King ($422. 7M) and Frozen ($400. 7M).
Let me repeat, that is based on national figures, not worlwide box clinic. Also, that is not factoring in inflation. If inflation wouldn't matter when comparing Frozen's figures with Big Hero iPhone plus to enjoy, it would pose a factor with 1994's The Lion King.
It delivers a bit murkier when you consider that Pixar is owned by Disney, but they treat Walt Disney Animation separately from Pixar. Thus, Pixar films are neglected of the comparison as well.
Either way, this is the achievement for Big Hero 6. Congrats, to them.
The film is selected for Best Animated Feature at the 87th Academy Awards. Hopefully they accomplish a victory.
